Update: Columbia River 200 Free Relay Team Lowers Time at Western Zone Champion Series in Federal Way

The 200 Freestyle Relay Team consisting of Alexander Suk, Jaron Hamlik, Kasey Calwell and Eric Bugna finished their race on Friday with a time of 1:42.07. Sandy Calwell reports the team keeps lowering times in prelims.

CHS Track & Field Prepares for First Meet of 2012 Season at Kelso


It’s that time of year again, and 150 Camas High School Track & Field athletes are gearing up for the first meet of the year starting Thursday, March 15 at Kelso.

Camas High School has been very competitive in season’s past and this year Co- Head Coach Alisa Wise says they have a very talented group of athletes.

The students compete in the following men’s and women’s events: 100,
200, 400, 800, 1500, 1600, 3000 meter races; the 100, 110 and 300 meter hurdles, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800 meter relays,  Sprint Medley, Distance Medley, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, and the infamous Hammer.

The athletes practice daily at Cardon Field and will be competing in at least 19 meets and invitational’s through the end of May.

Club Aquatics: Local Columbia River Swim Team Pushes Hard at Senior Sectionals

Nine swimmers from the Columbia River Swim Team qualified for Senior Sectionals at the 2012 Western Zone Speedo Championship Series happening now through March 11 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, WA.

Kasey Calwell, 15, and Jaron Hamlik, 16, who practice with the Camas High School Boy's Swim Team, competed in separate events today. Calwell, who is new to the team, competed in the 200 Long Course Meter Breaststroke this morning and finished with a time of 2:34.2, dropping two seconds off his time. Hamlik competed in the 200 Long Course Meter Backstroke and finished with a time of 2:19.66 earning him a spot in finals tonight. The team also competed in the 800 Freestyle Relay, but results are not yet available.

100 Innings Event: Spring Baseball Season Opener!

Baseball fans! Join all three Camas High School baseball teams for their annual 100 INNINGS Spring Event on Saturday, March 10th at the Camas High School baseball fields. The teams will break up into four and compete against each other beginning at 10 am, and will continue until 100 innings are played! The event promises to be A LOT of fun.

Three Performances Left!

If you haven't see CHS Theatre's "The Secret Garden" you still have three more chances. The final three performances of this incredible play will happen on March 8, 9, and 10 at CHS Theatre at Camas High School. The curtain call is at 7 pm each night. Here are some scenes from the play.

Camas Dance Team Places 1st in Hip Hop at District Competition This Past Weekend

Congratulations to the Camas Dance team who place 1st in Hip Hop and 2nd in Jazz at their district competition, qualifying them for the state competition in both dances.
